I & C Scope Extended

April 2007 sees the Information and Consultation Regulations extended to include employers with over 100 employees. The regulations have been in effect since April 2005 and currently only apply to employers with more than 150 employees.

The legislation encourages employers to allow greater employee involvement through the set-up of a Works Council and only requires 10% of the workforce to request a formal arrangement.

Failure to consider a request or negotiate an arrangement could result in a fine of up to £75,000.

Please contact the Support Line if you require any further information on the I&C Regulations.
