Increase in Tribunal Claims

The Employment Tribunal Service published its Annual Report in July and the results show that the number of tribunal claims has risen sharply over the past 12 months. For 2005-2006, the number of claims received by the Tribunal Service totalled 115,039 - an increase of 25% when compared with the number of claims submitted in 2004-2005. One of the reasons cited for this sharp increase is the fact that there are a far higher number of multiple claims being submitted than have been made in the past.
