Page 3 of 11 Redundancy Payments and Age Discrimination
The Government has decided that it will not move to single multiplier for statutory redundancy payments when the Age Discrimination Regulations come into force in October 2006. The existing multiplier based on age will remain. The Government has however decided to remove the lower and upper age limits in the redundancy scheme. These are currently 18 and 65 respectively. The reduction that currently starts at age 64 will also be removed.
